There are so many pet brushes on the market it is pretty overwhelming to know which one is the right one for your pet. I have used a few pet brushes over the years with various dogs. But what is the best dog brush for shedding?!
Getting brushed is not Ryder’s favorite. I have gone through a few different style brushes with him. He usually tries to tolerate it for a couple of minutes, but then runs away. So, I am still in the market for a brush that works for both my dog and me. I want him to have an enjoyable experience with being brushed.
I was approached by a representative from the Matrix Partners PR firm out of Chicago. In full disclosure, I was not paid for this review. However, Matrix did give us the product to try for free in exchange for an honest review.
So, today Ryder reviews the Eazee Deshedding Tool by Foolee.
We received the large size in lime green. Each brush does come with two combs. The white comb is designed for daily brushing, where the black comb is for more intense grooming. Both combs have one side for short, thin coats and one side for longer, thicker coats.
This is a great feature, for dogs with longer hair. If you come across some matted hair you know you can tackle it with ease. You also won’t have to buy multiple combs and brushes to get the job done. If you ever do prefer a different brush, they offer various interchangeable brush heads. There are seven other heads that are interchangeable with the handle. I will talk about that later in the review.
The Eazee Deshedding tool claims to be gentle and safer than some other brushes on the market. They market the ease of use for the owner. All you need to do is brush your dog’s hair, and with the movement of a lever the hair falls off.
This sounds like a great feature since I always dreaded having to pull the dead hair out of the teeth on wire brushes. The Eazee is supposed to only pull out dead hair, never live. So you don’t have to worry about your pooch acting like it is hurting them by pulling out hair that is still attached.
There are no metal pieces on the product besides a few screws. Metal combs are usually the culprit of harming your pup. Metal can be sharp and dig into the skin. And clearly, discomfort and pain don’t mean enjoyment.
Let’s get into the details of the Eazee Deshedding tool, shall we?
List of Options
The tool is offered in a variety of colors and sizes to choose from. You can mix and match their products to fit your needs. Here is a brief outline of the options that are offered for the Eazee Deshedding Tool.
Colors
Looks aren’t everything when I need a tool to do its job. But if you are a Crazy Dog Mom like me and try to match all your dog item, this feature is nice.
The Eazee Deshedding Tool comes in 6 pretty colors. The handle colors include yellow, green, blue, purple, red, and pink.
Sizes & Price
There are three different sizes offered for this tool. Here are the sizes and retail pricing for each.
- Small – For dogs up to 22lbs. The small size retails for $29.99.
- Medium – For dog 22-45lbs. The medium size retails for $34.99.
- Large – For dogs over 45lbs. The large size retails for $39.99.
One thing I couldn’t find on their site are the measurements of each size and handle. In my opinion, you could probably get away with using a smaller brush, especially if your pup enjoys it. This will help save on the cost if that is an important factor in your buying decision.
Click & Brush Accessories System
A really nice feature of this product is the interchangeable Click & Brush heads. There are seven other brushes on the market that you can use with your Eazee handle.
This is an awesome budget-friendly feature. I have not tried any of the other attachments so I cannot speak to their functionality. Some of the heads they offer include bristle brushes and pin brushes.
If you do happen to like the metal teeth combs for longer hair or for larger hair mats, they do have a few stainless steel comb options. You can read more about them on their accessories page.
The Pros
- Easy to use and ambidextrous.
- It is made of static-free plastic, so the hair doesn’t stick to the brush or comb.
- The teeth are not sharp like metal combs and brushes.
- It does not pull the live hair on your dog. Only the dead hair.
- The handle is detachable to mix and match other Click & Brush accessories.
- There is a hole at the end of the handle. You can use it to hang the brush or add a lanyard or strap to it.
The Cons
- Sometimes the button doesn’t stay in place at the lowest setting. This makes it a little difficult to switch out the combs.
- The comb is a little tough to slide out, but that could get easier with more use.
- The comb used for daily grooming (white) is fairly flexible. I fear that it could snap if bent too far while changing out combs.
- The Eazee Deshedding Tool is a little more pricey than some of the generic brushes on the market.
The Guarantee
I am always happier to see when a company has confidence and stands behind their product. The Eazee Deshedding Tool is covered by a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. If you and your pet do not care for their tools, you are able to return the products through their 30-day money-back guarantee.
In My Opinion
I have used this brush for a little while now and I am very impressed. It truly is a wonderful brush. And I love that Ryder finally enjoys being brushed. Grooming on a regular basis is very important for your dog’s health.
That video of using the brush on Ryder for the first time was filmed in an off-leash dog area. He enjoyed the brushing enough that he did not run away to greet other pups or sniff. That is a huge compliment to the product.
If Ryder loves it, Mom loves it!
The Eazee Deshedding Tool is gentle for your pet, and user-friendly for you, the owner. It easily removes the dead hair and the comb teeth are soft enough to feel like pampering.
It claims to work well on all different coat types. I tried the tool on my roommate’s dog, Snoopy. He is a long-haired English Cream Dachshund. The brush worked well. It didn’t pull at Snoopy’s live hair. He seemed to enjoy himself, as well.
If you are on the hunt for a new brush, I recommend that you pick up an Eazee Deshedding tool and try it out yourself. I would love to hear what you think of the tool.
Overall, I have concluded that this brush is safe and easy to use. More importantly, it is gentle on your dog. It’s amazing that Ryder likes being brushed. He actually gets excited when I bring it out.
Ryder Ratings
Ryder is usually the hard one to please. Here we will combine our opinions and rate the product based on:
Price | ![]() | Four Bones. Essential Oils can be very expensive, I think the product pricing is very reasonable. |
Quality | ![]() | Five bones. The brush seems to 5 Bones. The diffuser seems very sturdy and the glass bottles are thick. |
Enjoyment | ![]() | Four bones. I am not a fan of the smell, but it is all-natural. It is worth the smell if it works to calm your pet. |
Ease of Use | ![]() | Five bones. Super easy. No setup. Twist in the bottle, plug it in, and you are ready to go. If you use the spray, just spray and go. No need to dilute or anything. |
